4.5 starsMeira is a sexy woman, a few centuries old. She loves shoes and Sam Wright. She's also a harpy who escorts souls to Zeus and her next target is Sam. She doesn't want to lose him and will do anything to make sure she can keep him. In doing so, she gets on Hera's bad side and faces more loses than she thought. In order for Meira to keep Sam and save him, Sam has to win a hero's challenge, which consists of three separate challenges. If I had been given a chance to really get to know Sam be [...]

THE HARBINGER is the fourth installment in Christine Rain’s 13th Floor Collection and it’s the fourth one that I’ve read. I have to admit that my background in Greek mythology is sketchy at best. However, that didn’t diminish my enjoyment level. In fact, I think I liked it even more since I learned a few things from the story.Meira Harper is a fantastic character. A Harpy who has to fetch souls for Zeus and who loves her stunning shoe collection. I loved this bit about the shoes, making [...]

Christine Rain’s 1304 – THE HARBINGER takes an original twist on the games gods’ playE HARBINGER blends Greek mythology with the modern day. Meira is a marked harpy, and she’d do anything for shoes and the man she loves. I love how loyal and strong Meira is, and I get her attraction to Sam—a hero worthy of the title, despite his flaws. Rains’ modernized Greek gods adds to this novella, and I love their drama and pettiness and how even they can show great heart. The romance is sweet an [...]

The Harbinger is the fourth novella in Ms. Rains’ The 13th Floor series.Ms. Rains has done it again. It took me a little longer to actually love this novella, but this author’s intelligent writing style and contemporary view of the Gods won me over. The journey that these two characters take is unique and drew me in. The inner turmoil that Meira felt was real and I was as concerned for Meira’s soul as I was Sam’s. The character development was outstanding; I even ended up liking Hera at [...]

Meira is a loyal harpy, fetching souls for Zeus and loving shoes. She's never refused him. Until now. Sam is the first love she's had in centuries and she isn't going to give him up. If only the gods could play fair, but they don't. Sam is forced to endure three challenges and if he wins, he can live but he can't have Meira. Meira refuses to live without Sam and will do everything in her power to save him. The chemistry between the two of these character is wonderful! And the story is enthrallin [...]

Another excellent "13th Floor" novella. Rains is scoring a home run with this series. This one is a delightful romp with the Gods of Olympus, where Meira must convince Zeus not to kill the mortal man she has fallen in love with. Oh, and Meira isn't exactly human of course - she's a harpy. The author does a fantastic job of showing the complex relationships and squabbles between the Gods, and just how she, as a harpy, fits into all this. Loved the Gods!Beautifully written, well-paced, gripping an [...]

This is my favorite book of the series so far. Old-fashioned heroes, Greek gods and goddesses, true love, and high stakes? What's not to love? Follow Meira up to Mount Olympus for a showdown with Zeus and Hera in the fourth installment of the series.
