I received an eARC, from NetGalley and the publisher, in exchange for an honest review. The Dream Dancer by Leslie Hachtel is the story of Lady Bryce and Lord Rowland.Bryce has a 'skill' that lets her enter peoples dreams. Bryce has used this skill for some of her father's suitors that he has in mind for her. Bryce has to be near them and then she would enter their sleep to talk them out of marrying her. While in town she meets Rowland who is on his way to meet her father. Bryce is attracted to hi [...]

The Dream Dancer is a lovely romance story with a bit of magic. Lady Bryce, as far as her father is concerned, is in need of a husband. Unfortunately, all those that he brings to visit Bryce are unappealing in every way. She has discovered a talent that enables her to visit someone's dreams and plants seeds in their minds that make them leave. When Lord Rowland visits her father she is immediately attracted to him and determined to make him her own. I loved the storyline of this book and it fit [...]

"The Dream Dancer" a romance with a dash of the paranormal is set in 1616 outside London when Lady Bryce lays eyes on the dashing womanizer Lord Rowland of Ashford in a market place not far from her home. Smitten for the first time after dismissing the disappointing suitors her father has traipsed across her path, Lady Bryce is determined to make Rowland's promise to wed her a reality especially after he inflames her senses the night before he returns to London.Embellishing the truth of his prop [...]

Lady Bryce has the ability to enter others dreams and persuade them to do what she wants and she is using that ability to persuade the man she chooses to marry her. She goes to Lord Rowland in his dreams and seduces him promising her that he will marry her. When Lady Bryce’s dream comes true will it turn into a nightmare if Lord Rowland finds out what she has done? I liked the paranormal addition to this historical read. The characters were excellent and the story held my interest throughout. [...]

I never really finished I just can not read this anymore. The concept was really cool but the author's style is too teenage fanfiction-y to be taken seriously and enjoyed.

I’m not always interested in historical romance books. There are times though that one captures my attention from the beginning. Ms. Hachtel stays true to the time period for this book. As I was reading I was delighted to see so many words that I did not know the meaning of. As odd as that may seem to some, I love learning new words. Since my kindle gives me the option of highlighting a word to find the definition, it becomes an added bonus. She stayed true to the story and the era with words [...]

This novel was a very interesting and entertaining read. I found it different than the average romantic novels as it had the twist of Bryce and her unique power that intrigues readers to know more. I found the beginning a bit slow, but found that after I got going I really started to enjoy it more. This was definitely a novel that I found myself wanting to know more and it kept me reading right till the end. I know that if I lived during that time and had to endure what these women did, I certai [...]

This author had me flying through the pages! This is not my first book to have read by this author, and it certainly will Not be the last! This author's romance novels are so unique and imaginative. There is always an amazing story line to each of her novels and this book is no different! I love the premise of the generation that the novel takes place. The fact that the author was able to depict the times of kings and queens, how women had no choice in love and that they were to be betrothed to [...]

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.3.5 starsDream Weaver was a historical romance with paranormal elements. Think seduction in a castle where our female protagonist increases her odds by entering dreams and re-enacting scenes from a raunchy journal she’s uncovered. It started out strong, with our rakish character perfectly introduced. Rowland and Alan’s friendship was perfect, and their interactions were my favourite part of the story.Lady Bryce was a contradict [...]

This book is rather formulaic but it is still a fun read. I enjoyed the language and the historical aspects to the book.Lady Bryce is a young woman who is untouched by men. She is also a woman with a special gift. This gifts allows her to enter the dreams of others and get them to do her bidding. The concept of this possibility is fun and intriguing. The reasons that Lady Bryce uses her “gift” is completely understandable. Her father is trying to marry her off and she has no interest in the [...]

This was presented to me as a historical story with a paranormal twist. The setting is a castle with a queen and king, ladies in waiting, and so much other historical things. I loved the descriptions of the rooms, the castles, and the travels. I could picture Bryce’s dog lying by the fire while Rowland and her father talked. The scene of Rowland riding through town on his horse and seeing Bryce for the first time stuck with me, the attraction was obvious from the first time their eyes met. The [...]

I won this book free from the giveaway.Lady Bryce has an extraordinary power; she is able to enter the minds of men when they're dreaming and persuade them to do what ever she tells them. So when she first sees the handsome Sir Rowland, she wants him, but only if he promises to marry her, thereby keeping her virtue until after they wed, despite Rowland wanting her otherwise. She wants control over the choice of which man she is to marry, but it is not easy especially when she isn't interested i [...]

In the Dream Dancer, Bryce, a young noblewoman, possesses the ability to influence others through dreams. So far she has just used the power to scare away old suitors that her nobleman father wants her to marry, but after she meets Rowland she means to use it to help get him to propose marriage. The story is set during the reign of King James, and fear of witches has lead to death for many people, complicating Bryce’s plans. I really liked the quick banter between Bryce and Rowland during thei [...]

Given to me for an honest review. This is an intriguing book well worth 6 stars, if I could give them. Rowland is just hanging around the market (1616, England) until he sees a beauty pass by. She is pretty, well dressed, and looks like she gets her way often. He asks her for a favor before he goes on a quest to kill a dragon. Since there are no dragons, the Beauty and her companions laugh at him. He gets a merchant to tell him about her. She's a daughter of Viscount Halstead and unmarried becau [...]

This book wasn't bad It was written well and was very descriptive. But the story-line was lacking for me and I just didn't like the characters. Bryce believes she has met her husband after one brief encounter (literally less than a minute), and Rowland is perfectly portrayed as the typically regency man-whore (even calls his 'manhood' a dragon). I felt like Bryce was extremely childish as times, and had to remind myself that yes, she is only 17. Instead of trying to be with each other because th [...]

The Dream Dancer is a captivating historical romance. I immediately connected with Lady Bryce's character. Her witty replies and sass combined with her good heart just make her a lovable character. All of the characters in this book were well developed and easy to like or dislike. Even though this is a romance novel, there is still some mystery, danger, and action towards the end that adds to the plot and makes the story richer. When the book ended and I realized the story continues in Emma's [...]

Based outside of London in the 1616, Lady Bryce, has a very unique gift. She can dream walk. And her gift has served her well most of her life. She's been able to chase away any unwanted suitors. She's also used her gift to persuade others, like her father, to get what she wants. During a trip to the local village market, Lady Bryce encounters a handsome young man, a young man that ends up meeting with her father and staying at their keep. And this time Lady Bryce uses her gift to convince the h [...]

I thoroughly enjoyed Dream Dancer. This was a traditional story in the true regency romance genre, although with a bit more spice. I enjoyed the banter between the main characters and the attention to detail in the manners of the court. The author did a good job of building the sexual tension between the dashing Lord Rowland and the beautiful, but willful Lady Bryce. The story was paced well and frustrated me in a good way. I couldn’t wait for the lovers to recognize that they were truly in lo [...]

The Dream Dancer by Leslie Hatchel is a superb book! This book brings to life the story where you fall in love with the characters. The characters are very well developed and easy to follow. The story line is truly wonderful and leaves me wanting to read more. Rowland is easy to love and yet feel pity for; as he is outmaneuvered by witty Bryce! This is a wonderful romance filled with lords and ladies and aristocracy. Further in the book it brings on curiosity with all the twists and turns this b [...]

I received this book from .When it comes to romance books, I drop my expectations and standards considerably lower than I do for any other types of books I read. Despite doing this with The Dream Dancer, I still wasn't impressed. This book wasn't terrible but it certainly wasn't good. It wasn't an eye sore to read but it will never make it on my favorites list- or my read again list. It was sooo corny and mediocre! The dialog, the plot, the writing, the characters, the everything.Others may have [...]
