One of the laugh-out-loud, funniest science-fiction stories ever. You'll know what I mean when you get to the part where inductees are commanded to inflict self-punishment by "tweeking" themselves; ouch!!!The plot twist which the entire story is based upon is reminiscent of the one in Robert Heinlein's story "By His Bootstraps."

I read this quite a while ago and initially rated it as the best book I'd rad but it was a long time ago so I can't remember everything but I enjoyed the way the story comes around in a circle to the start and what happened, it was a good easy read I think and I did enjoy it.

Only 150 pages but a brilliant anti-war SF comedy starring Warren Peace who signed up for 30 years in the Space Marines in exchange for loss of memory of his evil crimes Brilliant FTL as well as time travel.

Starts well and I enjoyed the black humour, but loses it way about 2/3 way through. Disappointing ending.

Light, easy to read, extremely funny, fast paced and good entertainment, at least for teenagers which is when I read it

    • Matt Jones says:

Great, funny and original. If you like the Stainless Steel Rat you should read this too because the humour is very similar and there's lots of it.

Parani loppua kohti.

An obscure sci fi classic. Great fun and some great concepts. It was impressiveto my teenage self - hopefully it's not an embarrassment now!

    • Kathy Sebesta says:

It's old-style SF - a quick read and quite amusing in places. An entirely new way to go about finding yourself. To say more would be a real spoiler.

    • Pacyfa says:

Slightly amusing time travel novel, unfortunately it's quite predictable and thus not very exciting.

      A semi-frequent re-read when I'm in the mood
